It’s a hot day in Hue!

Those of us on the optional tour today left the hotel at 8:00 to cruise in a dragon-styled boat up the river that flows through Hue. The river is called the Perfume River because of the trees the Emperor had planted to perfume the air around the Thien Mu Pagoda, an interesting seven-tiered building on the north shore of the river. We had a lovely experience touring a village on the island in the middle of the river where some 2000 inhabitants live. People in Vietnam villages don’t close their doors and whenever anyone walks by they are more
